Bill Baldwin founded Baldwin Resource Group (BRG) in July of 1998, following a 25-year career as a successful entrepreneur and insurance industry executive. The company originally started as a consulting practice in response to the regional business community’s expressed frustration with the inability to find professional service providers who could offer broader business and enterprise solutions, in addition to conventional insurance brokerage services. The focus was, and remains, on providing clients with the tools necessary to assist them in growing their companies, protecting their assets and planning for the future.
In November 1998, John Campbell joined the BRG team following a successful career spanning both public and private accounting engagements. John merged his consulting practice into BRG and assumed responsibility for building the consulting service model. The practice currently consists of a broad mix of consultants with expertise in Mergers and Acquisitions, Human Resources, Consulting, Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery Planning and Strategic Advisory Services.
BRG has grown through the acquisition of two long-standing regional property and casualty insurance brokerage firms. Moloney & Associates (established April 1976) was acquired in December 1999, followed in January 2000 by the addition of the Bostick-Monarch agency (established July 1972). With a combined 51 years of experience serving Puget Sound clients, these acquisitions gave BRG access to strong, long-term relationships and a broad-based insurance brokerage platform to better serve both businesses and individuals.
BRG added a Risk Management practice in May 2002 when Dennis Roarke joined the company, followed by Don Jenkins in April 2004. Both Dennis and Don enjoyed very successful careers with national insurance and risk management firms, including Johnson & Higgins and Marsh, USA, with a focus on Enterprise Risk Management (ERM). Through their collective leadership, BRG’s ERM team consists of a network of professionals offering a variety of services ranging from RFP process management to forensic accounting.
A benchmark event for BRG occurred in December 2005 when Bill Meacham and Gus Kiss merged their firm, The Meacham Group, with BRG. This merger brought one of the longest standing and most respected employee benefit, life and financial service firms in the Puget Sound region to BRG.
In its ten-year history, BRG has built a very successful business model that resonates with the expressed needs of local, regional and national businesses, as well as with individuals. We differentiate ourselves by offering our clients advice and access to resources in the Consulting, Enterprise Risk Management and Insurance arena. This business model allows BRG to attract outstanding employees with broad perspectives and skill sets.
